FASHION INDUSTRY PRACTICE
To help gain industry practice, in my second year of university our first project was based around designing a collection for a company we would like to work for. The importance is placed on specific market research to highlight the emphasis placed on design detailing, price point, fabric, and production quality/techniques when designing for specific fashion markets.
I chose to design my collection tailored to Burberry. My collection was inspired by the period of time: coming out of lockdown and how COVID-19 has affected the way we see ourselves including the way we introduced ourselves back into a working society.
RESEARCH FOLDER
CLO3D
This year I have been taught how to use CLO3D for pattern cutting. It is a type of software that allows designers to pattern cut all digitally both on a virtual mannequin and on a 2D screen format. It is increasing in popularity throughout industry due to saving time and costs by reducing the need of toiling. For this project I used the software to pattern cut my dress.
